About Orthaheel

The Scholl Orthaheel range was developed by Australian podiatrist, Phillip Vasyli.

Phillip Vasyli is a podiatrist with a specialist interest in the area of biomechanics – that is the study of how the body moves. For many years he would treat his patients’ aches and pains by giving them custom-made orthotic insoles that would affect the position of the feet and the way they moved during walking to reduce the stresses and forces that were acting on the feet and having an impact on the rest of the body, leading to pain.

Having orthotics custom-made can be a long and expensive process and Phillip Vasyli realised that there was an opportunity to develop an over-the-counter foot orthotic that would give patients an easier, cheaper and faster solution. He achieved this by developing a foot orthotic that was designed to match the shape and function of the average foot.

Scholl know how important it is to look after our feet; they are our foundation - often the only part of the body that is in contact with the ground, and they need to support the whole body as we walk and move. Minimising the stresses and forces acting on the feet can help to relieve some common aches and pains, which is why Scholl have purchased this range of orthotic insoles.
