Phil Vasyli
Phil Vasyli, a world renowned Australian Podiatrist is the founder of Vasyli International and inventor of the Orthaheel range.

After graduating from the first podiatry course in Australia in 1978, he founded his own business, Vasyli International, in 1980. Phil had discovered that many of the patients visiting his practice needed prescription orthotics to help with biomechanical problems, and creating these was a time-consuming process that involved making casts of each individual patient’s feet. However, he came to realise that the poor alignment of feet and legs that was the root cause of many of his patient’s discomfort could be corrected using a range of standardised orthotics.
From there it was a short step to the mass-production of orthotics that would be suitable for the majority of his patients. To this end he created two types of state of the art orthotics:
The Orthaheel range – a consumer product range available to buy off the shelf
The Vasyli Medical range – a range of mass produced, but adaptable, orthotics provided by healthcare professionals.
These two major developments dramatically changed the orthotic landscape, giving practitioners more options and increased flexibility to deal with their patients’ biomechanic problems.
